We’ll leave Vis town early and head around to the Komiža side for a group trip to the famous Blue Cave on Biševo island — then set sail for Korčula, arriving around midday for the afternoon and an overnight in port.
The Blue Cave is a group activity that needs an RSVP — it may not be for everyone, so please scroll down and add your name if you want to join! Korčula’s full lineup is right here on this page — just scroll down to see what Robert & Carlie are up to, plus the spots we’ve researched and suggest. 🤍
A small-boat trip to Biševo island to see the Blue Cave — a natural wonder where sunlight reflects off the seabed and fills the cave with an unreal silver-blue glow. You’ll transfer into a little wooden boat and duck through the narrow entrance into the light. Truly magical, and uniquely Croatian. 🩵
After the Blue Cave, we’ll sail toward Korčula and arrive around midday. We’re docked in town overnight — so there’s a full afternoon, evening, and night of options waiting for you. 🍇⚔️
Scroll down for Robert & Carlie’s picks and our researched suggestions — add your name to anything and you’ll see who else is going!
Our afternoon is booked — the island buggy safari below (we’ve tentatively reserved 10 spots and can add more)! It’s a ~4-hour adventure, so it’s basically our whole afternoon. The other ideas below are here if you’d rather do your own thing. 🤍
This one is genuinely dope — and it’s our afternoon pick! A ~4-hour off-road buggy safari (two people per buggy) that takes you all over the island with the family-run Korcula Buggy Official (Ana & Branko, running it since 2012). You’ll cruise coastal roads and forest trails through olive groves and vineyards, with some seriously sick views.
The route hits the Medvidnjak viewpoint (the island’s best panorama over Korčula Town & the Pelješac Channel), the 19th-century Forteca fortress, old drywall villages (Žrnovo & Postrana), a scenic stop by the Zure GRK vineyard at a WWII monument for a homemade juice and island stories, then the sandy Pržina beach in Lumbarda with a lunch stop at the Amore beach bar.
The grand finale is back at Ana & Branko’s sea-view family terrace, where they lay out tons of homemade goodies — pancakes, goat cheese with olive oil, prosciutto, fresh bread, cakes — plus their own wines, juices, and family-recipe liqueurs. Sounds lovely. 🤍
A walled old town in a herringbone “fishbone” pattern built to break the wind — you can’t get lost. Climb St. Mark’s bell tower for rooftop views, then peek into the stone house said to be Marco Polo’s birthplace.
One of Croatia’s rare sandy beaches — Pržina & Bilin Žal, ~6 km away, with shallow swimmable water and beach bars. Same village grows Korčula’s Grk wine, so it pairs perfectly with a tasting.
Rent a kayak or SUP from the waterfront and paddle to hidden coves, or join a guided trip to the little archipelago islets — Badija (pine forest, Franciscan monastery, tame deer), Vrnik & Stupe. Prefer no paddling? A water taxi to Badija is ~€71/group.
Korčula’s family wineries — some passed down for 300 years — make two native white grapes that barely leave the island. Worth seeking out while we’re here.
A winery tasting is a lovely option — but heads up: the buggy tour already swings past these vineyards and ends with local wines & homemade treats at the owners’ home. So we’re skipping a separate tasting and doing that instead (don’t miss it — come join us!). If you’d still love a glass in town, here’s the easy option. 🍷
No travel needed — sip a glass of Pošip or Grk right in town at a spot like Bokar Wine Bar or Wine & Tapas Lole, steps from the boat.
The most famous sunset spot on the island — a bar in the top of a medieval turret. Climb a ladder to the rooftop; drinks arrive hauled up on a rope pulley.
We’ll be here for golden hour — come toast the sunset with us! 🥂 We may also pop into a few of the other evening spots, so don’t be surprised to see us around.
Beloved old-town konobas: Aterina (creative Dalmatian small plates), Adio Mare (classic seafood, famous mixed plate), or inland Konoba Mate in Pupnat (Michelin-recommended).
The cheap, delicious, local route: grab a burek (flaky filo pastry) from a bakery, then hit a famous gelato shop — Marco, Kiwi, Amore.
A 400-year-old tradition performed only in Korčula — a theatrical sword dance with real clashing blades, set to live music. Runs Mon & Thu at 9 PM in summer — our night is a Monday, so timing is perfect.
Everyone who signed up by July 1 (19 people) already has a ticket! The bride’s parents kindly purchased them, so please bring €20 to pay them back.Missed the sign-up? Tickets should still be available online, or you can grab one once we land in Korčula. 🎟️
Docked all night — no tender to catch, stay out as late as you like. Wander the seafront promenade, find a wine bar like Bokar or buzzy Maha Bar, and enjoy a nightcap steps from the boat.

Breezy resort-casual by day — swimwear & coverups for the beach. Evenings, think elevated coastal: linen, light dresses, comfy shoes for cobblestones (and Massimo’s ladder!).
The Blue Cave is optional — if it’s not your thing, no worries at all. You’re welcome to stay aboard and enjoy the sail. Just add your name above if you do want to come! 🩵
